The event Teaching and Learning (TaL) is for teachers from all Unite! partners interested in sharing teaching and learning practices. Next date: March 30 on the topic “Sustainability Integration: Current Experiences – Future Perspectives”. Registration deadline: March 18.

It includes objectives, recommendations and actions that the universities of the alliance can promote to make Unite! a European driver of open science and innovation by 2023.

Unite! has presented the alliance's strategic roadmap for moving towards open science. The proposal includes a set of objectives and recommendations that universities and schools should promote, develop and transform into actions, redesigns and incentives, to advance the adoption of open science practices, principles and objectives in all the partner universities of the alliance.

The 5th Dialogue in Stockholm

The 5th Unite! Dialogue, “New Horizons”, took place on 8-10 March, hosted by KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The two new future partner universities – Graz University of Technology and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology – presented themselves to the alliance community and the Dialogue was the first event at which the UNITE.H2020 project was fully represented.

Ten Unite! students participated in the first session of the European Student Assembly, debating with other european students and formulating recommendations for the European Parliament. Policy recommendations will be published soon.

TU student Fatma Souissi for Unite! in Strasbourg

On March 3 and 4, 2022, Unite! students will participate in the European Student Assembly, which will bring together 200 designated student representatives from the 41 European University Alliances (EUAs) at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. This begins a series of meetings to give students a public voice in the European Union. TU student Fatma Souissi represents the alliance together with students from the other Unite! partner universities and talks about their objectives in an interview.

The international and interdisciplinary project for students enters the second round

Addressed to students willing to be part of a multidisciplinary team composed by colleagues from other national and foreign universities. During 3 weeks (face-to-face), participants will be encouraged to develop innovative techniques that may contribute to the current challenges of the Oceans sustainability.

Online courses for Unite! students

In online courses Unite! offers all students of the partner universities the possibility to exchange with other Unite! students, to learn new languages and to acquire intercultural competence.

One event in two parts

With March is approaching, and so is the 5th Unite Dialogue, New Horizons. For the first time, the Horizon 2020 project community will also attend a Unite! Dialogue in the perspective of a further integration of all the components of the Alliance

TU employees in conversation

The university alliance Unite! wants to create a new model of a European virtual and physical campus. Many employees of the seven partner universities are working on this. One of them is Heidi Roßmann, Office Management UNITE! In this interview, she talks about her day-to-day work.

The alliance is working on the JPROV project proposal – Joint Programmes: Embedding Virtual Exchange. The first steps were taken in December 2021 during the Campfire organised by the Aalto JPROV community at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC).

Aalto University invites all Unite! staff and students to attend the free training on Research Data Management and Open Science. The training addresses effective data management plans and where and how to store and share data.

Brigitte Plateau, Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble and Professor Jens Schneider, Vice President, Transfer and International Affairs at the Technical University of Darmstadt represented Unite! at the virtual Forum of Universities for the Future of Europe.

TU workshop for all

How should the university alliance Unite! continue? This question was posed by the Unite! Team to representatives of all status groups of the TU Darmstadt on January 19, 2022. More than 80 TU members accepted the invitation of the Vice President for Transfer and Internationalization Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Schneider to an online workshop. The ideas and suggestions developed are to be incorporated into the follow-up application for further funding within the framework of the European Higher Education Initiative.

The new Erasmus+ call in the context of the European Universities Initiative, the consolidation of the alliance’s structure with the future addition of two new members and the advancement of many of the projects, will be the focus of the alliance's work this year 2022.
