4th Unite! Dialogue Barcelona

From November 29, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) welcomed the international delegations of the partner universities of its university alliance Unite! to the 4th Unite! Dialogue and the first branding event in Barcelona.

The Unite! team invites all interested TU members to an internal university workshop on 19 January 2022. The content and aim of the workshop is to develop ideas and suggestions as a basis for the Unite! follow-up application.

INSPIRED is awarded the „Sonderpreis Interdisziplinäre Lehre“

At the end of the „Tag der Lehre“, the „Athene-Preise für Gute Lehre“ by the Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation were awarded at TU Darmstadt on November 24. The awards are endowed with a total of 46,000 euros and honor TU members who have rendered outstanding teaching services. The award ceremony took place as a hybrid event in the Köhler Hall and was livestreamed from there.

Co-creation session: Past & Future. Unite! Vision revisited

This session aims to encourage the Unite! community to share ideas, initiatives or actions you would like to propose to be incorporated in the following dialogues and for the construction of the 2030 Unite! and beyond!

This series of events is for teachers from all Unite! partners who are interested in sharing teaching and learning practices. Next date: December 8, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on “The Science of Learning: Promising Strategies from Cognitive Psychology.” Registration required.

Aalto University is offering a series of free web seminars on Research Data Management and Open Science for all Unite! members.

Unite! Past, Present and Future – for the first time with Branding Event

A four-day program with the Unite! community together with external international experts coming together to share insights and learn best practices about the european university alliance Unite!, both online and in Barcelona.

The online hackathon will take place from November 22 to 26, 2021.

Grenoble INP is organising an online hackathon which will take place from November 22 to 26, 2021 (5 to 7pm CET) via online Zoom meetings. It aims at getting together different groups of students of different partners’ universities to work on a collaborative project solution for the University of the Future. You have until November 15th to register and the winner will get to travel to the KTH Royal Institute of Technology Dialogue in March to present the results of the Hackathon.

The meeting at Politecnico di Torino was the ground for the discussion of key topics such as the possible future enlargement of Unite! from 7 to 9 partners.

Economy and quality management gave valuable input for the further development of Unite!

External stakeholders see the European University alliance Unite! on a good way to achieve a new quality of academic exchange and university networking in Europe. Representatives from regional economy, national quality assurance agencies and alumni of Unite! partner universities were invited to a digital “Unite! Quality Forum” to comment on the quality objectives and quality management and to give impulses for their further development.

Build your global competence

At the Unite! Virtual Fair on November 3, students can learn about the diverse offerings of the European University Alliance.

Unite!'s involvement in EUniQ has been instrumental to the development of Unite!'s quality management system. At the EUniQ Final Dissemination Conference, Matthias Adam presented the status quo and further plans for Unite! and its Quality Management to around 300 stakeholders.

The Sónar AI and Music Festival is hosting two hackathons on artificial intelligence and music from October 23-24. The prize is a trip to the festival in Barcelona. Requirement: Each team must consist of students from at least three Unite! partner universities. Registration until October 20.

On September 22nd at 11.00am (CET), Unite! launches the “We Unite! Startups”, a series of events with key-notes from cross-industry sectors that will show us what it takes to internationalize start-ups to several European countries. Registration required.

Aalto University is offering Unite! universities free access to web seminars on research data management and open science. The series starts on Oct. 5th and is aimed at university staff and students. No prior experience required.

Interactive Session “Unite! for sustainable energy” on September 24, 2021

Unite! for sustainable energy will be held on the 24th of September, from 10 to 11.30 (CET) in English. It will be a joint session interactive session, including students and researchers from each partner university.

This 21st of September, the Unite! Alliance partner KTH offers an online seminar for all its Unite! students, on digital skills and leadership in our era of digital transformation.
