Chemical energy storage – retrofitting fossil infrastructure
2024/05/14
Article in Handelsblatt focuses on alternatives to hydrogen and reports on our research
Chemical energy carriers are necessary to store renewable energy in the long term. Unlike batteries, for example, substances such as hydrogen, e-fuels and iron can store energy for any length of time. In an article in Handelsblatt, Clara Thier takes a closer look at energy storage in metals and chemicals such as sulphur or lime. It also reports on our research into iron as an energy source and the retrofitting of existing infrastructures.
