Admission requirements 1. A degree B.Sc. Informatik of TU Darmstadt (reference programme) or a degree in a degree programme that teaches competences amounting to at least 180 CP, of which at least 60 CP are not significantly different from the entry competences taught in the reference degree programme.

Admission procedure Provided that the admission requirements (entrance examination) are met, there are no numerical admission restrictions.

If the entrance competencies could not be clearly clarified positively or negatively within the formal entrance examination, a substantive entrance examination is then conducted.
Dates for the entrance exam:
August/September for the subsequent winter semester;
February/March for the subsequent summer semester

Please note:
If you are interested in the Master's degree programmes Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Science and IT Security, please only apply for one of these Master's degree programmes. As the admission requirements for these three programmes are the same, the admission decision will be the same for all three courses. During your studies, a change to one of the other degree programmes mentioned is possible, subject to your previous application.

Graduates of the Master’s degree programme of the informatics branch of IT-Security can expect a rapidly growing field of work with a long-term significance and a variety of prospects in business as well as in the academic field. They can work as Chief Information Officers (CIO), project managers in IT security management or consultants for IT security certification, among other things. Companies in many different industries such as the automotive industry, the aerospace industry, the banking sector or the telecommunications industry are increasingly looking for experts in IT security.

In times of global networking, the security of information technology is becoming increasingly important. TU scientists are dealing with questions of IT security in the profile area “Cybersecurity at TU Darmstadt – CYSEC” and at the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE, among others.
