The job market for graduates of Political Science is generally broad and varied. Graduates are especially sought after for positions at universities, in teaching and research in the field of Political Science as well as in political education. With the analysis and comparison of the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany and other countries or the examination of state and constitutional fundamentals from the point of view of political theory, they can support parties, parliaments, political foundations, public administration or associations in an advisory capacity or as research consultants.

For this reason it is important to start gaining practical work experience in relevant organisations early in the degree programme. This way students can promote themselves as competent professionals in practice and make important professional contacts. The likelihood of finding a good position is definitely heightened if the student is flexible when it comes to commuting or even moving abroad. Good English language skills are particularly important when it comes to the international job market.
