Körperwissenschaften, Mode und Ästhetik – Berufliche Bildung (Lehramt an beruflichen Schulen)
Curriculum
The professional field covered by the Körperpflege degree programme includes, for example, hairdressers, beauticians and make-up artists. However, the programme is also aimed at others who are interested in body sciences, fashion and aesthetics.
Body sciences analyse the body from different perspectives. Accordingly, the degree programme is divided equally between fashion and aesthetics as areas of art and cultural studies and biology and chemistry as areas of natural sciences. Pedagogical and didactic modules are also fundamental for the teaching profession.
The Chair of Fashion and Aesthetics, alongside the didactics of fashion and aesthetics/Körperpflege, is a unique feature of the body care/Körperpflege degree programmes in Germany, professionalising teacher training in this area.
A successful Bachelor's degree in Körperpflege can also form the basis for other Master's programmes that build on it, opening up a variety of study prospects, for example in business or the natural sciences.
